I have a confession to make…
Reward stickers // My Carry potty // Potty bags // Disposable toilet seat covers // Folding travel potty seat // Car seat pad
We’ve been “loosely’ potty training our 2 year old since she was 18 months old. We’ve taken a no pressure approach at home where we encourage her to go often, but no biggie if she goes in her diaper and she’s been doing so GOOD. But there was something I was NOT ready to handle.
We were having a casual dinner at Chick-Fila-A one Friday evening when my toddler uttered the dreaded sentence.
“Mama, I wanna go potty.”
I was mortified. I was NOT ready to tackle THE PUBLIC RESTROOM.
I’m embarrassed to say I told her to just go in her diaper. I know, I know. Terrible.
When I got home, I got to work. I needed to find any and everything to help me feel prepared and comfortable with my toddler using a public restroom. I know germs and bacteria are everywhere but man, public bathrooms give me the heebie jeebies – yuck.
I think I curated the perfect items to help me feel comfortable with us going to potty in public.
The best part is (with the exception of the Carry Potty), I can just throw everything in my “mom” bag (similiar here) and head out.
Have you ever been in this situation? What are some of the things that helped you get comfortable with the idea of your little one using the restroom in public? I’d love to know!
